Character Customization

Guild Wars 2 is an RPG game acclaimed for its wide appeal to both new players to the genre and seasoned gamers. Like many RPG games, character customization is where the game begins.

There are five races and nine professions in Guild Wars 2. Races determine your story, racial skills, and appearance but are all balanced equally. The nine professions are the skills your character will focus on. You can choose only one of these skills from three main categories: Soldiers, Adventurers, and Scholars.

Once you’ve picked your desired race and class, you can fully customize your character’s appearance to set yourself apart in the world of Tyria.

Combat System

Overview

Combat plays a central role in Guild Wars 2. It’s high-impact and fast-paced, with combos, skill chains, dodging, and quick attacking on the move.

Adaptive builds

The combat system is complex and doesn’t fall into the typical MMO mold due to an incredibly diverse skill system. That means any of the professions can adapt to new combat roles like damage, support, and control.

PvP battles

You can engage in short, fast-action PvP matches, and even join World vs. World battles with hundreds of opponents for a real challenge.

Player-Driven Story

Guild Wars 2 features a unique player-driven storyline shaped by your own decisions. Every decision you make unearths new insights and discoveries true to your story.

Major Expansions

There have been several expansions to Guild Wars 2 since its initial launch in 2012. The two major expansions are Heart of Thorns and Path of Fire. In March 2020 the developer announced a third major expansion, End of Dragons.
